On Monday, January 13, the volume of trading in Bitcoin options on the CME exceeded $2 million. Bakkt failed to achieve such successes in more than a month.
The volume at the CME was 55 contracts or 275 BTC. All contracts were call options.
Looks like 55 contracts went through on CME's BTC Options first day of trading, approx. $2.3mln notional.— skew (@skewdotcom) January 13, 2020
100% were Calls.

At Bakkt, it was possible to get past the $1 million mark only a month after the launch of derivatives.
In a commentary to The Block, CME CEO Tim McCourt said the feedback from market participants was positive.
Recall, a few hours before CME, the trading of BTC options was launched by the FTX exchange, supported by Binance. If we believe its representatives, the volumes overcame $1 million in just two hours.
