The Swedish Ministry of Finance plans to complete work on assessing the consequences of the launch of a regulated token (CBDC) by the end of 2022.

The country's authorities decided to accelerate the implementation of the project to create a token pegged to the crown since many countries are also actively working in the same direction.

Per Bolund, the head of the Kingdom's Ministry of Finance said that the department will publish a report on the work done in November 2022.

The official also noted: "It is imperative that the digital payments market operates securely and that it is accessible to everyone ... depending on what stage of development the digital currency is in and what technologies are in use."

Back in October this year, the chairman of the Bank of Sweden, Stefan Ingves, spoke about the regulator's readiness to accelerate the creation of the digital crown. He also called on the kingdom's parliament to approve the crypto project as quickly as possible.

The country's Central Bank has already begun testing the digital crown. Note that the Swedish authorities promised to start testing the coin as soon as possible two years ago.
