Bitcoin exchange Coinbase has hired a former managing executive and head of Morgan Stanley's compliance department Ian Rooney.
Rooney will lead the corporate compliance team. He will help the company prepare for a direct listing of shares.
Previously, Coinbase invited Brett Redfearn, ex-director of trade at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, to the position of vice president of products and capital markets.

On February 25, the US Securities and Exchange Commission approved Coinbase's application for a direct share listing. In anticipation of this event, the exchange faced claims from the regulator and paid a $ 6.5 million fine.
