The leader in the crypto segment was 42-year-old CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance Changpeng Zhao with $2.6 billion. Compared to last year's data ($2.53 billion), the status of CZ increased slightly, but in the general list, it rose by 805 positions.
Last year's leader, co-founder of Bitmain Mikri Zhang this time did not get into the rating. Recall that in January 2019, Zhang was forced to leave the company due to disagreements with business partner Jihan Wu. Last year, Zhang's fortune was estimated at $4.21 billion. Wu, who owned $2.39 billion in 2019, was also unable to overcome the minimum threshold for inclusion in the rating.
Instead, Bitmain is represented in the new ranking by co-founder Ketuan Zhang with $1.6 billion.
He is followed by the founder of the OKEx and OKCoin exchanges, Star Xu (in the new rating, Xu Mingxing is named under the real name) with $1.4 billion. Since last year, he has risen one line, although the size of his capital has remained the same.
The fourth from the crypto industry was Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen with $1.3 billion.
The fifth line from last year was retained by Huobi CEO Leon Li with $1.1 billion. The list closes Brian Armstrong - Coinbase CEO with $1 billion.
