Bank of England

Another government has decided to accelerate the development of a regulated digital currency (CBDC). The Bank of England announced later this week that it is starting to recruit a team of professionals representing the blockchain industry.

Seven vacancies were published about a week after the British regulator, together with the Ministry of Finance, created a task force to assess the potential of the so-called digital pound.

The authorities of the kingdom decided to intensify the work on the creation of the token against the background of the exceptional achievements of Sweden, France, and China in this direction.

In the announcement of the British Central Bank, it is said that all seven vacancies are directly related to the CBDC. The regulator is looking for four analysts, two blockchain architects, and the head of this research group. Jobs posted on Linkedin.

Despite the search for specialists, the Central Bank emphasizes that it still has not made a final decision on the advisability of launching a token pegged to the pound. It will be adopted exclusively after the regulator analyzes all the potential risks associated with the introduction of an innovative payment instrument.
