Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that he did not confirm the possible transition of the Ethereum ecosystem to stage 2.0 in July.
In the crypto community were surprised at the statement of Buterin circulated by some media. So they turned to one of the Ethereum developers Afri Schoeden for clarification.
In the comments, Schoeden noted that Vitalik hardly spoke about July, since even a coordinated test network has not yet been launched.
Going on stages or panels and putting out dates is not helpful at all. I don't think Vitalik said July. But I didn't see the talk.— Afr (@a4fri) May 12, 2020
Buterin himself later joined the discussion. He stated that he did not speak about July, and if this month appeared in the question, he simply did not hear.
Recall, we wrote at the Consensus: Distributed conference on Monday, May 11, Vitalik Buterin announced that the launch of Ethereum 2.0 is going to begin in July. The update, also known as Serenity, has been repeatedly delayed. It was incipiently planned for January 2020, then moved to the second quarter, and then to the third quarter of 2020.
