In 2022, the pace of launching bitcoin ATMs has sharply decreased. According to the CoinATMRadar service, only 202 cryptocurrency terminals were installed last month.

The pace of launch has fallen to the lowest level last seen during the bearish dominance of 2018-2019.

Analysts attribute this trend to the fall in the value of cryptocurrencies and increased control over the industry in developed countries. In total, 37,836 bitcoin ATMs are ready to serve cryptocurrency holders in the world.

The USA and Canada remain the leaders in the number of such devices. These countries have 33,646 and 2,598 terminals, respectively.

After North America, the European region remains the most developed. There are 1420 terminals for buying and selling bitcoin and other coins here.

Genesis Coin is currently the largest bitcoin ATM operator. This giant serves more than 40% of devices worldwide.
