The Ukrainian authorities continue to work on the creation of a national digital currency.
Earlier, representatives of the government and the Central Bank have repeatedly stated that in addition to the launch of a regulated token (CBDC), Kyiv intends to legalize the cryptosphere.
This week, the Ukrainian media reported on the Finance Ministry's desire to pay the salaries of some government workers in digital hryvnia. The implementation of this plan will be part of a large-scale project of the authorities for testing and subsequent implementation of CBDC.

The head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mikhail Fedorov, told reporters that employees of the Ministry of Digital Transformation will be the first to receive a salary in e-hryvnia as part of CBDC testing.
For this, the government will form a list of civil servants wishing to receive tokens. Only in case of successful testing will the authorities be able to start work on the transfer of social payments to digital format, the minister stressed.
Note that recently, the National Bank of Ukraine received powers from parliament to issue a token pegged to the hryvnia.
