Video game publisher and distributor Ubisoft partners with the blockchain protocol Tezos to launch an NFT platform, Ubisoft Quartz.
As stated in a press release published by the company, players can get playable NFTs, Digits in an AAA game on the new network. Ubisoft will bring the first Digits to Tom Clancy’s game series Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
NFTs will launch in beta. They are part of limited editions. The beta of the platform Ubisoft Quartz will be available on Dec. 9 at 6 pm UTC in the US, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Australia, and Brazil. Early adopters among players will be rewarded with free Digits. On Dec. 9, 12, and 15, the company will drop three free NFTs. Players can get digits and use them in Ghost Recon. In early 2022, there will be other drops.
Launched in 2018, Tezos is an energy-efficient proof of stake blockchain with its native coin XTZ.

On December 8, the company announced Open the Metaverse Tezos hackathon. The event will take place from Dec 10 to 12. Earlier, on December 4, Tezos completed its 8th upgrade, Hangzhou. The upgrade provides higher transaction fairness, smart contract interconnectivity, and reusable smart contract code.
