The new system will be created in the framework of the implementation of laws on mandatory pension insurance. In particular, with the help of the platform, it is planned to simplify the purchase of tickets for citizens who have privileges to travel by rail.
The technology of the distributed registry is planned to be used to minimize the cost of carriers for the organization of free travel for preferential categories. For example, citizens of such categories will receive a digital card and when they buy a ticket, the system will contact the blockchain to check for the availability of a benefit.
The blockchain will also record data considering the cost of the trip. Thus, they can be accessed by both implementers of the project, and the authorities, which, on the basis of the data, will compensate the fare to the carrier.
A pilot project to test the new system starts in St. Petersburg, Karelia, Murmansk, Pskov, Leningrad and Novgorod regions.
