In April, over 8700 wholly anonymous transactions were made on the Zcash network (ZEC) (an extension of almost 70% compared to February).

According to ZcashCommunity, completely anonymous transactions accounted for 6% of the total number of transactions. In March, the number of transactions grew by 100% compared to February. Last November alone, the number of completely anonymous transactions rose above 2000 per month.

Transactions with anonymous addresses account for 15% of the total (23,676).

Zcash supports two types of addresses: z-addr (anonymous / secure) and t-addr (transparent / open). Transactions between t-addr types can be viewed on the blockchain in the same way as transactions on the bitcoin blockchain.

Transactions between two z-addresses are completely anonymous, and transactions between two types of addresses can be sent for anonymization (t → z) or deanonymization (z → t). It is worth noting that all three types of transactions with z-addresses increase the level of anonymity in the Zcash network.

The expansion of anonymous transactions may be because it has become much simpler for Zcash users to apply fully anonymous transactions. In early April, Guarda Wallet added support for anonymous ZEC transactions. Collectively with Zecwallet Lite, which was launched last November, the wallet by default generates anonymous addresses.
