The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is considering launching its own digital token. Thus, according to local media reports, travel operators will be able to make additional profits by starting to make money on the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies.
The token will be called TAT Coin. The agency's management decided not to come up with anything specific and to name the service token with the abbreviation of the agency.
The statement said that before the "travel" token is launched into the so-called circulation, the agency will have to overcome many obstacles on the way to achieving the goal. So, the main problem can be going through a large number of checks and collecting the necessary documents. That is due to a very complex legal framework and requirements from the Thai government. At the moment, the Tourism Authority is actively negotiating with the Thailand Stock Exchange.

If the digital asset is launched, it will be possible to "transfer vouchers and various 'discount points' to TAT Coin, thanks to which travel operators will receive high liquidity and, accordingly, more solid profits."
The Tourism Authority believes that there is a lot of potential hidden in cryptocurrency. If the token is put into circulation, the agency will be able not only to demonstrate its competitiveness at the global level but also to attract additional customers in the form of holders of digital assets.
