The UK Financial Conduct Authority has warned investors that the BitMEX cryptocurrency derivatives exchange has not received permission to operate in the country and could potentially conduct fraudulent activities.

The regulator recalled that almost all companies and individuals offering financial services or products in the UK should be authorized by it.
The statement said that, nevertheless, some firms operate without their permission, and some carry out investment scams.
In it, the FCA indicated the official BitMEX website and two email addresses owned by the exchange.
The authority noted that it does not recommend using the services of companies not included in its register in order to avoid loss of funds.
