On June 11, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered the draft law "On Virtual Assets", which introduces cryptocurrencies in a regulated plane and obliges exchanges to register with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The final version of the document has undergone changes. In particular, the terms “exchange”, “token” and “stablecoin” have disappeared from the conceptual apparatus.
Legislators also abandoned the most controversial point about the actual location of virtual assets.
Recall that the draft law "On Virtual Assets" was submitted for public discussion on May 18.
Lawyers suggested that the bill could significantly expand the powers of the Ministry of Finance.
If the document is accepted, it will enter into force three months after publication. No fines for violations of the law will be levied during the transition year.
