The payment firm Square, as part of an initiative to develop a bitcoin network, provided financing to two developers.

The grantees were John Atack and Tancred Hase. Attacks are researching the Bitcoin protocol, and Hase is developing software.

According to Square Crypto, Attack has been working on Bitcoin Core for almost a year, and Khase is busy “creating a public key that will allow sending text messages.”
Earlier, Square Crypto provided a grant of $ 100,000 to the BTCPay Foundation, a non-profit organization behind the same-name processing.
Square Crypto also offered an unknown amount to the developer of the Lightning Network protocol under the nickname “ZmnSCPxj” so that he could totally devote his working time to LN.
