The nonprofit Solana Foundation has announced the launch of the Solana Season virtual hackathon featuring Web3, DeFi, and NFT themed tracks.
Solana Season starts on May 15 and runs over three weeks. The hackathon offers a global prize pool of $ 400,000. Teams will also be able to receive seed funding, which will increase the amount to $ 1 million.
Each track provides three prizes with awards of $ 20,000, $ 10,000, and $ 5,000 in USDC-SPL, respectively.
Additional prize pools are provided in regional tracks:
- Eastern Europe (and CIS countries) - $ 155,000;
- China - $ 125,000
- India - $ 50,000;
- Brazil - $ 25,000.
Individual projects will be able to compete for additional prizes with the support of the hackathon partners, as well as for the Grand Champion prize - $ 50,000 in USDC-SPL.

“We want to participate in the development of projects covering different countries because we believe that they will be invaluable in unlocking the potential of the blockchain,” said Anatoly Yakovenko, President of the Solana Foundation.
According to him, the goal of the foundation is to present extra assistance needed for projects to support and develop the Solana community.
