McDonald’s Now Accepts Bitcoin and Tether Payments In Lugano

International fast food chain McDonald’s now allows customers to make payments in Bitcoin and the USDT stablecoin in Lugana, Switzerland. Crypto news provider Bitcoin magazine published a video on Twitter about how customers can use Bitcoin for payments.

In March, Lugano signed a deal with Tether to increase blockchain adoption in the city. According to the initiative called Plan B, over 200 shops and businesses in Lugano are supposed to accept cryptos for products and services. Lugano Mayor Michele Foletti stated previously that the latest partnership with Tether will help the city to increase its efforts in financial technologies.

According to the partnership, Tether will create a multi-million dollar fund to help blockchain startups in the region.

Lugano has been actively engaged in cryptocurrency and blockchain tech in the last few years.
