The administration of the Japanese regulated Liquid exchange informed its users about the hacker attack.

On the morning of August 19, the press center warned about the suspension of accepting deposits and withdrawals due to security problems. In a statement, the exchange notes that it has begun to transfer cryptocurrency to cold storage.

Liquid pointed to four addresses, which, according to preliminary data, are associated with hackers. We are talking about BTC, Ether, Tron, and XRP wallets. However, it is not yet known how much money the attackers managed to steal.

The press service emphasized: “We are currently investigating and will provide updates regularly. In the meantime, deposits and withdrawals have been suspended.”

All transactions took place a few hours ago. For example, the bitcoin address received 106 BTC for $ 4.7 million, and the ethereum wallet received ETH and ERC-20 tokens for $ 69 million. The hacker addresses of Tron and XRP ended up with $ 10 million worth of coins.

To date, the biggest attack in the cryptosphere is the hacking of the Poly Network protocol. Recall that the cybercriminals prey on digital currencies worth more than $ 600 million. Then the hackers returned most of these funds.
