Altshuler Shaham profits from BTC

Israeli press announced that in two months Tel Aviv-based Investment House Altshuler Shaham boosted $100 M by investing into the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). The move came at the end of 2020 when BTC was purchased at about $21.000.

Altshuler Shaham is the only establishment in Israel that invested such a large sum of money in BTC. The company provides management of investment portfolios, mutual funds, provident funds, pension funds, and other services. At the end of January, it had around $51.5 billion worth of assets under management.

The Investment House showed interest in the crypto industry in 2017 taking positions in local ICOs.

Generally, the number of Bitcoin investments has been rising worldwide. On March 7, Chinese technology company Meitu invested $40 M in Eth and BTC, thus becoming the first Hong Kong-listed company to fund crypto.

Referring to Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, its AUM surpassed $36.3 B. At the moment the leading cryptocurrency trades at around $54.500.
