Iranian Regulatory Gives 30 Licenses to Crypto Mining Farms

Iran's Ministry of Industry has allowed 30 crypto mining companies to carry out operations after receiving licenses. The news was published on the official website of the country's regulatory body.

Semnan province got six licenses. Alborz, Mazandaran, East Azarbaijan, and Zanjan got four licenses each. In the capital Tehran, there is one crypto mining company that received a license. Also, the ministry has released 2.579 establishment permits.

At the end of May, Iran's president, Hassan Rouhani ordered ceasing crypto mining operations till September 22. The reason is the extremely hot summer.

Earlier in May, the Central Bank of Iran banned Iran's citizens from purchasing cryptocurrencies mined in other countries. This decision is meant to prevent the capital flight from Iran.

Bitcoin and crypto mining is one of the hottest topics recently. Many companies and organizations have been considering ways of making the process of producing new digital assets more environmentally friendly.
