Benedetto Vigna, the CEO of leading sports car manufacturer Ferrari, said during the earnings call of the fourth quarter of 2021 that the automaker is looking at opportunities for growth in the metaverse.

The executive said it's important to explore how new technologies can help the brand. Vigna finds that the area of Web 3, blockchain tech, and NFTs is interesting and is worthy of attention. The executed noted that there is a lot of movement on the market about the technology and in his opinion, it's an area for Ferrari to put attention to.
At the end of December 2021, Ferrari announced a partnership with a Switzerland-based blockchain company Velas Network to create digital products for users.
The CEO mentioned that Ferrari is working on strengthening relationships with leading tech partners. In this aspect, it partners with Amazon Web Services to integrate digital technologies and Web 3.
It's not the first time that car companies show interest in non-fungible tokens. Previously Porsche and Lamborghini launched NFTs. NFTs have great potential for the industry as they provide license management and preserve intellectual property rights.
