If necessary, the company plans to implement the measures described in the plan in its own offices. They are located in the USA, Japan, Ireland, and the UK. At the moment, all the offices except the Japanese are in the zero-risk zone. The Japanese office was assigned the first level.
Coinbase has restricted employee business trips to China, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, and South Korea. At the same time, Armstrong is confident that the risk of coronavirus infection for most employees is low.
The plan is divided into several stages as the number of infected in the immediate vicinity of Coinbase's offices increases.
The first phase will take effect if more than 100 cases of “transmission of the virus from person to person” are recorded. As part of this phase, the company will strengthen the cleaning of offices and allow their visits only to key personnel.
The second phase (more than 1000 infected or the announcement of quarantine by the authorities) involves the prohibition of food consumption in offices and severe restrictions on visitors.
In the event of the third phase (more than 5000 infected), Coinbase relieves all responsibility and completely transfers employees to remote work.
