China is decisive to eliminate the exposure of Chinese residents to cryptocurrencies. The authorities didn't overlook news outlets and mining pools.

Recently, major crypto media provider Chainnews, founded in 2017, announced shutting down. The editor-in-chief informed about the decision in his WeChat news feed. Earlier, media outlets Odaily and Block123 were closed.

Chinese ban is the most severe ban against crypto in history. On September 24, the Central Bank of China together with ten departments issued a Notice saying that all crypto transactions are considered illegal in the country. It was mentioned in the release that among other departments, cybersecurity and informatization units, telecommunication and public security will cooperate to block payment channels, relevant websites, and mobile apps to strengthen supervision over registration and advertising.

Internet service providers in China now detect and block domestic miner IPs (Internet Protocols).
