Binance.US Hires Ex-Comptroller of Currency Brian Brooks

Binance hired Brian Brooks

Crypto exchange platform Binance.US hired Brian Brooks, the previous exec of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) as its CEO.

Brooks will begin his service on May 1. He will replace the company's present CEO Catherine Coley, who was assigned in the role in July 2019.

Serving at the OCC from May 2020 to January 2021, Brooks supported crypto and blockchain innovations. In January the regulatory brought out guidelines that banks and lending establishments could apply those techniques and stablecoins for paying operations.

Ahead of his role at the OCC, Brooks was the chief lawyer at Coinbase.

Earlier, Binance hired two previous FATF execs, Rick McDonell, and Josee Nadeau.

The platform keeps growing. Earlier this month it represented its first two stock tokens. Initially, there was the Tesla stock token. Afterwards, the Coinbase stock token was released.

On April 20, its software update will take place.

Lately, the platform's native token Binance Coin (BNB) reached a new all-time high of $637. It ranks third by market cap which stands at above $82.9 B.
