Law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case against a resident of Minsk, who illegally installed a mining farm in the basement of one of the children's educational institutions. This was reported by the agency Minsk-News.
The father-in-law, working in the institution as a worker, helped the fraudster install equipment. The farm was discovered by chance because of the large amount of rainfall, the basement began to flood.
Law enforcers emphasized that the operation of mining farms is not regulated, however, the suspect illegally consumed electricity from the educational center for the extraction of cryptocurrencies.

After identifying the malefactor, the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against him under Part 2 of Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (causing property damage without signs of theft). He may face up to five years in prison.
Recall, recently miners were accused of flooding an apartment building in Krasnoyarsk. Another case was in Russia, where scientists were accused of mining on a supercomputer.
