46% of American Crypto Investors Had Higher Expectations

Pew Research Center’s new survey says 46% of American crypto investors find that their investments have performed worse than they assumed. 15% of the participants said the results have been better than their expectations, 31% said the results corresponded to their expectations, and 8% said they aren’t sure.

The crypto market has been down since May. Currently, Bitcoin trades at around $21,300 and Ether at around $1,600.

According to the survey held from July 5 to 17, 2022, reveals the entire share of U.S. adults who have invested in, traded, or used crypto is the same since Sept. 2021.

Mainly participants invested in crypto as they want an alternative way to invest (31%), 24% find that crypto is a good way to make money, 21% think crypto is simpler to get into than other investment ways, 14% have more confidence in crypto than other investment forms, 8% want to be a part of the community. The survey shows that 49% of U.S. adults have heard about non fungible tokens. However, only 2% said they have bought an NFT.
