What is Tornado Cash?
Tornado Cash is a completely decentralized protocol for private activities on Ethereum. It was formed on the basis of open-source research by the Zcash crew. The 1st version was launched in August 2019. The system works in a way that breaks the on-chain link connecting the sender and receiver thus allowing 100% anonymity. Tornado Cash's smart contract supports Ether and ERC 20 deposits. So, when a user withdraws the sent tokens, it is impossible to find the link that carries on particulars about the sides. Deposits may be taken out by any on-chain location. Tornado Cash adopted zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) to ensure privateness. The network has its native token TORN, which is an ERC-20 token with a set supply amount of 10 million. TORN is a governance unit, through which owners put forward offers and vote for decisions. Besides, users who add to the Ananymoty Set, which indicates the number of deposits available for withdrawals, get TORN rewards. Thus, the mining of TORN tokens is arranged.
