Ukraine is not only moving towards creating its digital currency, also the country wants to allow the use of bitcoin when paying for goods and services.

The government's position was expressed by Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Alexander Bornyakov.

Holders of digital assets will be able to use them both as a means of payment and as a savings instrument. However, the state will oblige Ukrainians to declare cryptocurrencies.

Bornyakov mentioned: "Holders of digital currencies will have several important benefits. Through the introduction of a regulatory framework, people will be able to protect their wealth in virtual assets."

According to the Deputy Minister, it is not bitcoin holders, who are exposed to the risks of fraud, but just the owners of fiat money.

Exchanges registered in the Ukrainian jurisdiction will take responsibility for safeguarding the funds that Ukrainian investors place in their wallets.

State supervisory authorities will monitor the operation of trading floors. They will be able to ensure the transparency of transactions, which will help ensure the safety of traders, Bornyakov summed up.
