The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has required all crypto companies to stop posting content promoting cryptocurrency investments.
On December 15, the regulator sent appropriate notifications to such companies as Coinbase, Kraken, eToro, as well as EXMO, and Coinburp. The management also demanded from all other firms, not related to the cryptosphere, not to launch campaigns promoting investments in digital assets.
ASA accused Coinbase of advertising cryptocurrency on Facebook in the summer of 2021. Fears of the regulator were caused by the statement of the company, in which it promised bitcoin investors huge returns over the next ten years.

A similar charge has been leveled against another exchange, Kraken, which posted an ad promoting digital currencies on a London station in August.
The ASA has struggled with crypto ads in the past. For example, in May, the department demanded that the Luno platform refuse to post bitcoin content on buses and metro stations in the British capital.
The management of the Bank of England has an extremely negative attitude towards BTC. Many representatives of the British regulator have previously repeatedly criticized Bitcoin and included it in the list of threats to financial stability.
