The two brothers who founded the South African company Africrypt disappeared with bitcoins totaling up to $ 3.5 billion.

As Bloomberg clarifies, businessmen disappeared along with 69,000 BTC. Back in April, one of the brothers, Amir Kaji, announced that his crypto company had been hacked. After that, he urged investors not to seek help from law enforcement agencies and lawyers.

According to the entrepreneur, the intervention of the authorities will only complicate the problem of returning the missing funds. However, some investors ignored the businessman's appeal and turned to the lawyers of Hanekom Attorneys for help. The specialists of this company found out that even a week before the attack, access to the software was lost.

It is not yet known where the brothers who founded the crypto company Africrypt are located. However, lawyers found out that the missing bitcoins were sent to the wallets of the mining pools. After that, the coins left in an unknown direction.

The investigation of this case was taken up by employees of an elite unit of the South African police. At the moment, law enforcement officers from South Africa are faced with the largest crime in the cryptosphere.

Russian police officers also periodically face cryptocurrency crimes. Recently it became known that the court sent a group of people to a strict regime colony who were trying to take away 275 bitcoins from a businessman.
