NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club donated $1M to Ukraine

The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT project team announced that they had donated more than $1 million in Ethereum to Ukraine.

According to Etherscan, 388,999 ETH has been sent to the official wallet of the government of the country. At the time of writing, the value of the cryptocurrency is $1.062 million.

The project said that they were inspired to take this step by the community, which had previously collected a similar amount to support the country subjected to aggression.

BAYC ranks second in the ranking of NFT collections in terms of trading volume on the OpenSea platform. At around $417,000, it is second only to CryptoPunks.

BAYC collectible token holders include American rapper Eminem, Canadian singer Justin Bieber, and a Miami nightclub operator.

Recall that a previously unknown person sent an NFT from the CryptoPunks collection worth over $200,000 to the official wallet of Ukraine.
