Cherepovets police are investigating a criminal case against two residents of the city who distributed drugs for a fee in cryptocurrency. This was reported by the press service of the department.

The investigation established that the suspects worked for one of the darknet marketplaces involved in the sale of drugs.
They distributed 280 "packages" around the city, receiving a reward in bitcoins for the total amount of 70 thousand rubles ($1093).
Cherepovsk citizens converted cryptocurrency through online exchangers and transferred money to a bank card.
Concerning suspects, criminal cases have been opened on the fact of money laundering.
The suspects were detained in September and placed in a pre-trial detention center. They face up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.
Recall that in June the Volgograd Region prosecutor’s office accused the former operative of the drug trafficking control service and his intern in selling drugs and laundering 15.5 million rubles ($242.000) through cryptocurrencies.
