American developer Laszlo Hanyecz, who went down in the history of bitcoin as the person who made the first documented purchase using cryptocurrency, said he actually spent significantly more than 10,000 BTC on pizzas.

On May 22, 2010, Hanyecz purchased two pizzas for 10,000 BTC. Traditionally, on this day, community representatives recall this event, which laid the foundation for the actual use of bitcoin as a means of payment.
However, in a conversation with the Cointelegraph, a Florida programmer said his pizza expenses were significantly higher. He told that he mined about 100,000 BTC and maybe spent half on pizza, and the second half he handed out or sold for other things. For all this he probably earned several thousand dollars. But that was enough to build a new computer for bitcoins.
He also recalled the case when he did not have enough coins to buy a whole pizza, and he agreed to buy one piece for 6,000 BTC.
However, he considers the more important event in his life not the purchase of pizza for 100,000 BTC (more than $80 million at the current market rate), but the fact that he managed to port Bitcoin from Windows to macOS at one time.
According to the developer, Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin on Windows and turned to him with a request to transfer the software to macOS. Nakamoto did not know how to build for Mac. So Hanyecz did it, and his sources were posted on the network.
