Today, the Harmony blockchain tweeted that hackers exploited the Horizon bridge for $100 M. The team has started collaborating with national authorities and investigators to find out the criminals and restore the stolen funds.

The Horizon bridge provides interoperability between Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Harmony. In a thread, Harmony said they notified exchanges and stopped the bridge to prevent further transactions.
1/ The Harmony team has identified a theft occurring this morning on the Horizon bridge amounting to approx. $100MM. We have begun working with national authorities and forensic specialists to identify the culprit and retrieve the stolen funds.

Data from EtherScan shows that hackers withdrew tokens through several transactions, sent to another wallet and swapped tokens on Uniswap. Among the stolen cryptocurrencies are Ether, BNB, USDT, USDC, and DAI. Currently, the hacker’s balance holds around 85,867 EtHs worth $99 M.
Harmony mentioned that the hack didn't impact the BTC bridge. The holdings stored on the decentralized vaults are safe.
