An American company that specializes in the retail sale of video games and gaming gadgets GameStop confirmed the information that it plans to launch an NFT marketplace soon. According to reports, this startup will be implemented in cooperation with the platform for scaling non-fungible tokens - Immutable X Pty Limited. Among other things, the press release states that the functionality of the newly minted startup will be built based on Immutable X, which, in turn, operates based on the Ethereum distributed ledger.

The developers of Immutable, as part of the startup's activities, plan to offset environmental costs by offsetting carbon emissions.

As of today, the companies have created a fund, which, at the time of publication of the material, has raised $100 million. That money will be used to pay grants to developers and creators of products and content in the field of NFT. Those wishing to become participants in the program must apply to the official website of the startup.

According to the agreement between the partners, GameStop will receive $150 million worth of IMX tokens from Immutable X. It is noted that the crypto transfer will be carried out only after the previously agreed tasks have been implemented by GameStop.

Based on the official statement of the partners, the launch of the project itself should take place at the end of this year.

It should be emphasized that the company will present more detailed information about the NFT startup a little later. The presentation will be held in Form 8-K in cooperation with the US SEC.
