Fraudsters posing as Elon Musk have engaged in a new trick that has already robbed at least $2 million of trusting BTC holders, The Block reports.

The organizers of fake distributions of cryptocurrency began to use the so-called vanity addresses, which can contain words, names, or phrases. According to Adaptiv, a cybersecurity company, more and more scammers are using them to refer to the head of Tesla and SpaceX.
Some users actually perceive vanity addresses as trustworthy. So since April 2020, 201 BTC has been sent to 66 “Elon Musk addresses”.
Recall that on a YouTube video hosting service, was found a fake account of the head of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse, on behalf of which scammers announced the distribution of 50 million XRP tokens in exchange for users' coins.
