California-based online e-retailer Newegg revealed enabling Dogecoin payments on its website.

The news comes on the same day that is announced to be Doge day. According to Twitter publications, the community expects Dogecoin to hit $1 today.

Doge has been showing a significant increase over the previous seven days. The coin reached a new all-time high of $0.4 and its market cap surpassed $50 B for the first time in history. This brought it to 5th place in terms of market cap.
In the press release published by Newegg, the company's sr. brand manager Andrew Choi talked about the popularity of cryptocurrencies. Taking into account the growing value of DOGE, Choi said the company finds it will be easier for clients to make purchases with the popular coin.

Back in 2014, Newegg allowed Bitcoin payments. The option was first available only in the US and then expanded to over 70 countries.
