Known for her friendship with digital assets, Hester Peirce has been nominated by US President Donald Trump for a second term as Special Commissioner for the Securities and Exchange Commission. It is reported by Bloomberg.

If she is approved by the US Senate, her term of office, which expires on June 5, will be extended by five years.
Cryptomom has been with the SEC since January 2018 and earned such a nickname for upholding the interests of the cryptocurrency industry. She repeatedly expressed her opposition to the Commission’s refusals to register a Bitcoin ETF.
Amid the uncertainty in the process against Telegram, Peirce proposed introducing regulatory holidays for cryptocurrency startups. The initiative suggests the possibility of not complying with SEC regulations for three years after the token sale. This can strengthen their focus on the development of decentralized networks and communities.
