Colorado may become the first state to allow residents to pay taxes in cryptocurrencies. Governor Jared Polis will discuss this possibility with the State Treasury Secretary.
“Colorado is and will remain the center of blockchain innovation in infrastructure, digital identity, and personal data security in the private and public sectors,” the official said.
Previously, similar initiatives have not received the support of legislators in Arizona and Illinois. The state of Ohio approved tax payments in bitcoin but later stopped accepting payments in cryptocurrency due to the low demand for the service.
