In his interview with Bloomberg, Roberts said although he loves Lyft, the decision of resignation became easier taking into account the growth in web 3 companies, particularly in OpenSea. The executive said he hadn't been that excited about something in a long time. Roberts added at some point the NFT market reminded him of 1995 eBay.

Sharing the news on LinkedIn, the OpenSea CFO expressed his determination to help the platform's co-founders Devin Finzer and Alex Attalah to shape the future of NFTs, web3, and the digital economy.

Many other executives at banking institutions and tech companies resigned from their jobs to join the crypto industry. Earlier this year, the managing director and head of Global Financial Crimes Infrastructure at Morgan Stanley, Ian Rooney, was assigned as Coinbase's head of enterprise compliance.
