NFTs and metaverse-focused company Animoca Brands announced securing around $358 M in investments.

In a blog post published on Jan. 18, the team said that the company’s valuation surpassed $5 B with the fund allocation.
The investment round was led by Liberty City Ventures. Among the participants were Winklevoss Capital, ParaFi Capital, Sequoia China, and many others.
Animoca Brands is going to use the funds to expand its strategic purchases and investments, build new products, and deliver intellectual property certificates. The company plans to create a blockchain-based open metaverse using non-fungible tokens.
In 2021, Animoca Brands attracted around $216 M. The company has several subsidiaries, including The Sandbox, and Blowfish Studios.
Founded in 2014, Animoca Brand is a leading blockchain and gamification company.
The tech corporation also actively invests in blockchain projects. It invested in OpenSea, Dapper Labs, Yield Guild Games, Axie Infinity, and other projects, the total number of which is over 150.
