Researchers at the Centre for Science and Security Studies at King’s College London have issued a report, where they analyzed "non-political" solutions for the problem of nuclear disarmament.
From the moment nuclear armaments were created, they have been a major peril to humanity. The USA has called them the most terrible weapons on earth. Although many institutions trying to annihilate them, the danger of a nuclear war has even grown. In their new report, the researchers mentioned the United Nations' Non-Proliferation-Treaty or NPT always faces difficulties.
Dr. Lyndon Burford, Postdoctoral Research Associate in the CSSS, thinks that the problem remains unsolved as political leaders don't confide in each other on the basis of formal worries not to share confidential data.

Dr. Burford recommends using blockchain as an answer. The report states that if coming into existence, distributed ledger technology can help to confirm the destroying of nuclear missiles in a “safe, secure, and reliable way.” This method would heighten trust among countries signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The report also discusses potential in smart contracts, noting that blockchain, together with self-enforcing algorithmic contracts, can offer a solid support layer for individual Internet of Things infrastructure, which combines detectors and ecological monitors. This could apparently be deployed to conduct real-time verification at secluded spots in order to automatically alert parties to any possible agreement breakings.
