Bahrain's Central Bank intends to release a Bitcoin payment implementation and payout solution in collaboration with the Bitcoin payment processor OpenNode.

Today, OpenNode released a statement saying that it intends to provide the infrastructure to help Bahrain to grow its economy and develop businesses. The company says by introducing the infrastructure for Bitcoin-based transactions, they intend to bring payment innovation to the West Asian country and start something promising.
OpenNode co-founder and CEO Afnan Rahman said this is a watershed moment for the people in Bahrain, the Middle East, and the Bitcoin economy. He noted that the infrastructure by OpenNode continues to help governments, countries, and financial institutions to adopt Bitcoin.
The Bahrain Economic Development Board executive Dalal Buhejji said that the institution is proud to work with the CB towards establishing a strong financial services ecosystem within Bahrain.
