Alogorand Expands Its Smart Contracts Functionality

The blockchain protocol Algorand announced a technical upgrade to expand its smart contracts functionalities, allowing one smart contract to call another. Due to this option, developers can build more sophisticated apps. The upgrade also provided a new infrastructure that allows the protocol to communicate with the broader world.

The Algorand team writes the features have been available on Betanet for the last few weeks and have received positive feedback from the community. Recently, Algorand Foundation announced a $10 M grant focused on EVM Compatibility and building developer tools for the network. The team said it believes in a multichain world and that the incentive aimed to provide features for more advanced decentralized applications (dapps) as well.
