What is Polygon?
Polygon, originally knowns as Matic, is an environment and a framework for creating and linking Ethereum-compliant blockchain networks. It was released in October 2017 by engineers Jaynti Kanani, Anurag Arjun, and a business consultant, operations manager Sandeep Nailwal. The Polygon parent chain is the Matic PoS Chain attaching a (Proof of Stake) security layer to all blockchains issued with Polygon. By adopting a multi-side strategy, Polygon secures the possibilities of Ethereum with an extensive, database bridging structure. The platform's chains can use Ethereum, the most secure programmable system in the world, to host and execute any mission-critical component of their logic. Polygon (MATIC) is an Ethereum-constructed token that fuels the ecosystem. It is employed both to compensate fees and be involved in a proof of stake mechanism. The token has a constant cumulative supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens. They are issued every month regularly. The primary private sale happened in 2017 when 3.8 of the entire amount was dropped. As planned by the timeline, all the units will be in circulation by December 2022.
