Alexis Ohanian QuickNode

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian leads investment in the blockchain development platform, focused on the decentralized internet, QuickNode.

The startup attracted $5.3 M in seed funding headed by venture capital company Seven Seven Six, the founder of which is Ohanian. Earlier, the entrepreneur invested in leading crypto exchange Coinbase and BTC rewards company, Lolli.

Among other investors in QuickNode are VC firm SoftBank Opportunity Fund, digital asset management firm Arrington XRP Capital and partner ecosystem platform Crossbeam.

QuickNode was founded in 2017 by Alexander Nabutovsky, Auston Bunsen, and Dmitry Shklovsky. It acts as an intermediary connecting its customers and the blockchains. The protocol includes a suite of application programming interfaces (APIs), that can be employed to get data from blockchains and use it in dApps.

Currently, QuickNode allows integration with Bitcoin, Ethereum, xDai, Polygon (MATIC), Binance Smart Chain, and Optimistic Ethereum. The platform has more than 30 billion monthly requests. Its revenue increased by over 1000% in 2020. Among QuickNode's customers are data providing networks CoinGecko, DappRadar, DeFi lottery PoolTogether, etc.

As stated by Dmitry Shklovsky, the raised funds will be used to expand the platform, and offer more development functions.
