According to representatives of the company, the Department of Information Technology (DIT) did not configure the possibility of using a backup system in case of failure of the main, despite the availability of necessary funds.

DIT disagrees with the accusations and believes that the problem was on the side of CryptoPro:

“This is still their equipment, they supply and install it. The reason is still incomprehensible, they have not voiced it, which is why the failure occurred, ”said Artem Kostyrko, deputy director of the Moscow DIT.

He also added that the department “has all the logs with failures of this equipment”, and he is ready to publish the data.

Recall that it is the first time a blockchain-based electronic system was used in elections to the Moscow City Duma. As a result of the failures, more than a thousand votes did not pass.

In August, French cryptographer Pierreck Godry cracked the system in just 20 minutes. You can read about this in our article.
