What is BitCore?
Bitcore is a fork of Bitcoin and allows you to combine the technologies of the original with new ideas, creating your own digital money. The project seeks to solve the main blockchain problems related to transaction speed and network scaling. The project to hard fork bitcoin and form a new cryptocurrency was implemented in April 2017. However, the developers did not copy the entire blockchain of the original, as is usually done with hard forks. Instead, they built their blockchain from scratch, powered by Bitcoin. Taking into account the technical solutions of Bitcore, its following technical characteristics are distinguished: Timetravel10 algorithm, designed for mining with video cards and does not allow the use of ASIC devices; The maximum number of coins remained at the level of 21 million coins; Block formation time was reduced to 2.5 minutes; Block size increased to 20 Mb, taking into account SegWit technology, which ensured better network bandwidth; The size of the Bitcore blockchain on the hard disk takes up to 1 Gb due to its update.
