Next week on December 2, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to hold talks with representatives of the expert community on the regulation of the digital currency market.

The statement of the American regulator notes that in addition to the legalization of cryptocurrencies, the SEC will analyze the consequences of the launch of exchange-traded crypto funds.

Back in the summer, the SEC called on Congress to give it additional powers to oversee digital assets.

The head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Gary Gensler, is known as a supporter of blockchain industry regulation and investor protection.

The negotiations, organized by the SEC, will become a kind of bridge between officials, experts and businesses focused on working with digital currencies. The discussion will take place in a remote format, according to the regulator's website.

The event will feature speakers from the US Blockchain Association Christine Smith, Gemini General Counsel Sidney Schaub, and Onramp Invest CEO Tyrone Ross. The participation of financial analysts and lawyers has also been announced.

The SEC will broadcast the negotiations live on its website so that the public can get the most detailed information about the plans of the US authorities regarding the blockchain sector.
