Thiel accused some of the financial figures of attempting to stop the cryptocurrency and surpass what has become a powerful movement. Well-known investor Warren Buffet leads Thiel's list of Bitcoin enemies. He called Buffett "the sociopathic grandpa from Omaha". Buffet has the nickname "The Oracle of Omaha" as his investment decisions are influential for the community, and he lives and works in Omaha.
Bitcoin Magazine recorded and published Thiel’s speech about the role of crypto.
According to Thiel, among Bitcoin's enemies are JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon and BlackRock's Larry Fink. He called them a part of a “finance gerontocracy”, that aims to prevent crypto from going mainstream. Thiel said criticism from these people is what the crypto community needs to fight for Bitcoin's 10 times or 100 times growth. He added that the executives are fine touting blockchain, the core technology for cryptos, but they feel the need to take down bitcoin and its legitimacy. The choice of not allocating to BTC has political reasons, Thiel finds.
Thiel said that crypto is the most honest market in the US and it tells that the current financial regime is about to blow up.
The PayPal co-founder holds BTC himself. The venture capital firm Founders Fund, co-founded by him, invested in various crypto companies.
